The Aquafarm Video Campaign

About the Films

Aquaculture has long been a tradition of the Chesapeake Bay and Eastern Shore. From Crabbing, fishing, shrimping and shellfish, this body of water has provided food for the world around and jobs for generations. After a declining shellfish popular and low water quality, the oyster industry has had a resurgence both in natural population re-growth and new sustainable aquaculture practices. Now, oystermen are giving tours of their farms to help promote tourism and educate the general public of the positive impact of the shellfish industry.

The Project

The Aquafarm campaign is a documentary-style tourism video proof of concept. We documented David’s time with oysterman Tommy in real-time without direction, allowing them to stay in the moment to fully capture the experiential essences of the aquafarm tours and the natural beauty and the welcoming nature of the Eastern Shore.

The shorter video can standalone but also acts as a trailer that doesn’t reveal everything that the viewer can finish exploring in the full-length video giving the whole project more flexibility and use within a marketing campaign.
